ITALIAN JOB 60 YEAR ANNIVERSARY SCREENING

BRIEF

To produce an event to celebrate 60 years of MINI production and 50 years since the screening of the film The Italian Job.

CHALLENGE

To convert the BMW MINI heritage museum space into a cinema for 300 invited guests including VIPs and original cast members. To manage and produce the entire event, creating a memorable and newsworthy experience.

SOLUTION

Liquid Media worked closely with the BMW MINI events team to create an immersive cinema experience, recreating the feel of the original film premiere. A printed backdrop housed a cinematic screen and tiered seating was installed along with surround sound and theatrical lighting. A presentation stage flanked by the original cars from the film set the scene along with a welcome video message from Sir Michael Caine.

OUTCOME

The event was a great success achieving positive PR for BMW MINI both on TV, radio and social media. The son of the original movie sound recordist commented that Liquid Media produced the best cinematic sound experience he had ever heard accompanying the film.
